Pinnacle’s much-anticipated Elastiprene suits are now available to the public.  These suits have been in stock in all sizes of men’s and women’s styles in both 7mm and 3mm thicknesses for more than a month, and are selling extremely well.

 The Elastiprene series is the world’s first suit that combines incredibly stretchy rubber with features that make the suit warm and durable.  “In the past, people who wanted the comfort of high-stretch suits had to make sacrifices,” said George Stauffer, Pinnacle’s president.  “Though the suits slid on and off easily, the divers often complained of being cold, as the rubber compressed too easily and the suits had few features to create any significant insulation.  On top of that, the linings used often pilled up and snagged, making the suit look old before its time.”  Divers had to make a choice between being warm for years; or having a disposable suit that was cold in the water but comfortable on land.

 The Elastiprene series ends that debate.

 The suits are made of Pinnacle’s proprietary brand of rubber, which stretches far beyond most neoprenes, yet offers greater resistance to compression than earlier high-stretch rubbers.  This makes the suits inherently warmer.  Pinnacle adds other features to increase insulation like double glued and blind stitched construction, o-ring cuffs, a smoothskin neck seal, and a 10mm spine pad.  The Elastiprene lining is also unique, working along the same principles as Pinnacle’s famous Merino™ lining system, which traps more water against a diver’s skin, keeping cold water locked outside the suit.  Though tremendously flexible, these suits are warmer than most standard suits.

Durability is not an issue with the Elastiprene series suits.  Standard features include rubber shoulder pads, Kevlar™ kneepads, marine-grade brass main zippers, roll-neck collar, 8” gusseted ankle zippers, and more.  Additionally, the internal and external linings of the Elastiprene suits are extremely resistant to snags and abrasions, and even from Velcro-attack.

 The Elastiprene 7 is 7mm throughout the suit (as opposed to many other stretch suits that get their stretch from reducing the arms and legs to 5mm), and is available in 8 men’s and 7 women’s sizes.  The Elastiprene 3 is a full 3mm throughout, and is available in the same size range.  The men’s 4XL size will comfortably fit a 6’8” 300-pound diver, and Pinnacle never charges an additional fee for larger sizes.
