PINNACLE ANNOUNCES NEW WETSUITS FOR DEMA Pinnacle Aquatics will be releasing several new products at this year's DEMA show, adding to their already extensive line of products. They will also be unveiling product improvements to almost every wetsuit in the line. “The new Elastiprene line of suits will revolutionize the high-stretch suit industry,” according to George Stauffer, Pinnacle’s General Manager. “Prior to now, people who wanted the comfort of high stretch suits had to put up with some serious drawbacks. Most of these type of suits were not all that warm, and they tended to have exterior cosmetic damage and material breakdown in far too short a time. Divers had to either choose to be warm and have a durable suit or to have a warm and reliable product. Now they can have both. We could have had high-stretch suits on the market over a year ago, but we opted to continue our research until we could build a line of stretch products far better than anyone has ever seen.” The Elastiprene will come in two thicknesses, 3mm and 7mm, which will both be displayed at the upcoming DEMA show. The Elastiprene 3 will be available for purchase in early November, in plenty of time for the travel season. The Elastiprene 7 will be in stock by February, well before the Spring. The suits will be identical, with the exception of thickness. The suits are constructed completely of Pinnacle’s proprietary Elastiprene rubber, which is incredibly flexible, yet retains its shape and insulating properties. The interior lining is designed to allow the suit to glide over the diver’s body, and the exterior finish is incredibly impervious to Velcro attack and other snags. Both Elastiprene suits are completely double glued and blind stitched and have reinforcing stress disks on every internal seam intersection. Other features include 8” ankle zippers, Kevlar knee pads, o-ring wrist seals, molded rubber shoulder pads, a 10mm spine pad, a roll-neck collar, and a marine-grade brass main zipper slider and zipper pull. The Elastiprene suits even come with their own wide-shouldered hanger. Pinnacle has taken the opportunity presented by the introduction of the Elastiprene series to also introduce some new sizes. These suits and other selected Pinnacle suits will now be available in a women’s XXL and a men’s 4XL at no additional charge. Certain Pinnacle suits will also now be available in women’s XXS men’s XS. Given that Pinnacle now offers a total of 25 adult and 6 children’s sizes in various products, it is hard to imagine too many people that will require a custom suit. Pinnacle will also use the DEMA show to publicly show the Cruiser wetsuit, which has only been shipping since last month August 2005. This suit has been selling extremely well in its first month, and brings the features of a top-quality wetsuit to a budget-conscious diver. |
